Seen on a buff black guy’s t-shirt downtown:

Pain is weakness leaving the body.

  1. C’mon… you think we’re buying the buff black guy story? You and Chip were wearing those shirts on the way to the gym to “pick up chicks”

Honestly, I think it’s a little silly because it implies that to be strong you have to be in pain or that you’re weak if you’re not in pain. Although, now that I say that, Micheal did say yesterday that a limp is good because it implies struggles and experience, and God does take us through tough stuff to refine us, and the tough stuff can be pretty painful. Maybe it’s not so silly…

  3. Well, when you apply it to exercising, strengthening your muscles usually involves some sort of pain.

  4. Sound good.  I’ll think of it when I’m in excruciating pain dancing in the pointe shoes tomorrow!

  5. Gosh that is true on so many levels. But it is not always positive. Sometimes “weakness”, appropriately recognized, is an opportunity to trust God’s strength for the outcome, and sometimes emotional pain causes us to react “strongly” rather than meekly.
I am overanalyzing the heck outa a T-shirt, for sure …
